Beef Diane Stew.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg beef chuck or similar
  • Flour
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 tbsp whiskey
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire
  • 1L beef stock
  • 300g mushroom
  • 1 tbsp corn starch slurry
  • 1/2 cup cream

Directions

  1. Cut beef into large chunks and season it with salt and pepper then lightly coat with flour.
  2. Fry beef on high to quickly brown but not cook all the way through, reserve in slow cooker.
  3. Saute ontions and mushrooms and add garlic when almost done sauteing, add to the slow cooker.
  4. Deglaze pan with beef stock and add it to slow cooker.
  5. Add whiskey and worcestershire to slow cooker.
  6. When meat is almost cooked to desired tenderness add the cream.
  7. If desired add corn starch slurry now too.
